SMP clothing was established in 1991 in the heartland of American surf and skate - Orange County California. The brand began as some ideas between friends flowed and made their way on to t-shirts. Since then, SMP has continued to grow and achieve international success.
On 6 October 2005 in Shanghai China, SMP launched its 12,000m2 SMP Skatepark, making it the biggest skatepark in the world!
SMP also held the inaugural "SMP Shanghai Showdown Gravity Games" as part of the grand opening of the park. The top skateboard, BMX, inline skate and FMX athletes attended including: Sandro Dias, Neal Hendrix, Lincoln Ueda, Pierre Luc Gagnon, Willy Santos, Dayne Brummet, Josh Evin, Greg Lutzka, Dennis McCoy, Tom Stober, Tom Haugen, Koji Kraft, Luke Cole, Matt Cole, Noel Cotter, Fabiola da Silva, Shane Yost, Eito and Takeshi Yasutoko.The "Showdown" is in invitation only format where the best of the best compete head to head. No heats, no rounds - make or break.
